Do you remember a viral video about a sea turtle? The video shows a group of people helping a sea turtle to remove a plastic straw from its nose. The turtle looked like it was in so much pain and as you can see from the video, it started bleeding when the straw was being pulled out. It took 8 minutes for the straw to be taken out. Don’t think that “it’s only one sea turtle”, this sea turtle is just one of the lucky ones to be rescued by kind people, what about other marine animals that suffer from plastic pollution?
Bamboo straw is basically a straw made from bamboo and it’s biodegradable. Biodegradable products are products that can be decomposed after being thrown away. Bamboo straws can be reused for about 4 to 6 months or until you feel that it is time to toss them away. Our bamboo straws are 100% natural and can be decomposed easily. They are hand-crafted by our local artisan who has a bamboo plantation in his hometown ─ Kudat. Bamboo is one of the fastest growing plants in the world as it can grow up to 91cm within just 24 hours. Can you believe it? Neither can we, but that’s a fact! Thus, there is no need to worry that consuming bamboo straws will cause extinction to the plant.
Care and Maintenance Tips:
– Brush the inner of the bamboo straw through the two sides of it by using a cleaning brush.
– Soak the bamboo straw with vinegar water once in a while or when you think is necessary.
– Make sure to dry your bamboo straw before consuming any drinks.
